Cihangirlink is designed as a platform for artists to contact each other directly, without having a third person’s company in between.

Including a culture-art map on district scale, information of the artists, culture and art venues and the works they present, culture and art news, Cihangirlink website aims to be the address of international contact and neighbourhood.

Cihangirlink aims to create a platform to encourage the tolerance for diversity and being multi-cultural, to recycle the values and practices of a certain area into alternative ways of producing culture and art, to use local sources for international and intercultural contact, to strengthen the cultural images by renewing them and to spread the effect of art as a unifying force among people.

We kindly ask you to fill out the “Place” or “Artist” forms both in Turkish and English and send them to info@cihangirlink.org.

Besides, you can share every kind of culture and art event taking place by having them published as either “News” or “Notifications” on the site.

CIHANGIRLINK'S FIRST PROJECT

Amongst Neighbours 01

Amongst Neighbours 01 aims the artists, living in Cihangir district of İstanbul and Mitte-Wedding district of Berlin, to share each other’s living and working spaces and to produce works in collaboration.

Within the project Amongst Neighbours, supported mainly by İstanbul 2010 Cultural Capital Agency, 36 artists coming from totally different disciplines; from theatre to cinema, literature to music, are going to be guests of each other’s for 2 different 3-weeks periods in order to link İstanbul to Berlin and vice-versa.   18 artists from Cihangir are going to be guests of Mitte in April and 18 artists from Mitte are going to be the guests of Cihangir in May.  The works, produced in relation to street and public, are going to be presented through all sorts of activities like; exhibition, performance, workshop and training session, in order to maintain the reach of a wide-range crowd.  The district streets are going to be transformed into venues where performances and exhibitions take place.

The project is supported by Mitte and Cihangir Municipalities and 11 different civil initiatives.  Project’s General Coordinator is Necile Deliceoğlu, Artistic Director is Çağla Ormanlar Ok, and Project Coordinator is Zeynep Boratav.  The artists who are involved in the project from Beyoglu-Cihangir are:  Ali Perret – Bilgehan Öziş (music), Fatih Özgüven – Şengün Kılıç (literature), Selim Eyüboğlu/Sevgi Ortaç – Serkan Taycan - Yorgo Emre (photography), Elvan Kıvılcım – Somnur Vardar (cinema), Şule Ateş – Gökçe Yiğitel – Özlem Alkış (performing arts), Murat Akagündüz - Esra Carus - Güneri İçoğlu - Can Tatlıparmak - Kop-Art (plastic arts)
