About the artist

Studied Clinical Psychology at Bogazici University. She thinks her humanistic, conceptual and artistic vision is partly based on her social science background. She was the camera-girl of the legendary avant-garde Istanbul bands like Zen, Tampon and Neoplast between the years 1991-1997.

She also worked as a copy editor (Radikal daily), as editor (Soz Publications, CIDC), as text editor for TV (TRT 1) and as a stage designer (Zen, Neonline). Later she made collages for the cult Turkish fanzine MondoTrasho and published her own fanzines named as Ender (Rare), Kıyak (Swell), Hayret (Wow!), Bahçe (Garden), A5, I'm Here For A Good Time, Come As You Are etc… She made a very long movie (Wings of My Perception, 3.5h) inspired by the works of Norman McLaren and many short movies (Episode, Dress Up-Dress Down! Hello Where Are You, Everything Goes 2 Trash…). She designed a unique book for her own poetry (Bed for Words). She moved to NYC at 1999 and worked as a jewelry and jeans designer (Institut) for two years. Since 2002, she expresses designs and creations of hers and collaborationist artists under the name of Kop-Art on platforms like collage/conceptual installations, fashion, video-art, and p(art)y/performances.
