About the artist
Born in 1974, a rainy November evening, in Istanbul. Studied Physics B.A. Hons in M.E.T.U (Middle East Technical University) in Ankara, though decided to walk in her mother’s shoes and started acting on her return to İstanbul.
She joined in a street theatre company, producing their own visually capturing promenard performances on streets. At the same time, she acted in TV series and did voice-over for various foreign films, series, documentaries and cartoons as well as for Turkish series on TV. Then, she became the assistant director of Nefrin Tokyay in her productions and acted in one of them. Feeling the urge, she went to London to study drama. First, she has taken classes of method acting that rely upon the teachings of Stanislawski. Then, she took a more alternative path and studied M.A. Advanced Theatre Practice- Performing branch in Central School of Speech and Drama where devised theatre was the core of the programme. After the graduation, with her few friends from school, they founded a theatre company and produced devised and site-specific plays.
However, with the impulse of curiosity she moved on to different collaborations with different theatre groups. Now, she lives and works in İstanbul.
