About the artist

Born 1978 in Gaziantep, Turkey. Studied Engineering at Yıldız Technical University in Istanbul. Finished a master-class on documentary photography in Nordens Fotoskola, Sweden.

His photographs were exhibited at several galleries and museums including Russian National Centre of Photography, St. Petersburg (Young Photography from Turkey, 2006), Malmö Museum  (Narratives From The Private, 2008) and appeared in many publications, including; The New Yorker, Wallpaper*, Der Spiegel, Wall Street Journal, Art Papers, Bidoun.

“Young, Me” project was chosen for “Young Talents in Turkish Photography v.02 “ selection by Genis Aci Photography Magazine. Worked as Curator Assistant at the Photography Gallery, Istanbul Museum of Modern Art.

His on-going project, Memleket – Homeland –is about impression of Turkey’s today, combining with personal memory- will be finished at 2009.

He is a member of the photographers collective RecCollective. Currently lives and works in Istanbul.
