About the artist
In 1984 Sert opened her photographic studio in Istanbul. Throughout the 80’s and 90’s she was commissioned by magazines doing fashion photography and portraits, as well as still-life work, record covers, catalogues.
In 2005 she opened ARTANE, her new space in Istanbul, which acts as a bridge between Turkey and the International art world by enabling a platform in which artists of many nationalities can create and show new projects. Some of these relate to Istanbul itself, others provide never seen before perspectives. ARTANE is a new kind of space in which art collectors and general public alike can see and acquire some of the latest developments in international contemporary art.
